Cheap camping supplies help save money on vacations

from:

If you are looking for a cheap family vacation that will allow you to have fun while still saving money, a camping trip is a great choice. In order to save even more money when preparing for your camping trip, look for cheap camping supplies. Many discount camping supplies can easily and quickly be found by shopping online. Web sites often allow you to find exactly what you want for lower prices than in the stores while still buying good quality camping equipment and gear. Supplying yourself with the camping supply basics is a one time cost, and each subsequent camping trip will be that much cheaper.

Before you set out on a camping family vacation, you will need to outfit your trip with some basic camping essentials, such as tents, sleeping bags, and cook ware. A family tent that sleeps up to six people is a good choice, and many web sites offer such large tents for fewer than 200 dollars. Sleeping bags are another camping essential, and cheap camping supplies web sites will offer a wide range of sleeping bag types to choose from. If you will be camping in cold weather, be sure purchase insulated sleeping bags. Sleeping bags for the whole family can be found for under 50 dollars, with some as cheap as 20 dollars each. Also, for as low as ten dollars, you can make your night of sleep at the campground much more comfortable and warm by purchasing a sleeping pad. These pads will insulate you from the cold ground and provide a soft area for you to place your sleeping bag. Another cheap purchase with great benefits is a tarp. For around ten dollars, you can protect your tent by placing a tarp on the ground underneath, which is especially helpful during wet weather.

For campground cooking, there are many cheap camping supplies that can be found by shopping online. Keep your eye out for large discount coolers for keeping drinks and food cool while at the campground. Another camp cooking essential, grills and stoves, can often be found on web sites for reasonable prices. A propane camp stove is a great choice for preparing delicious food and also saving money.

For other cheap camping supplies, look around your own house. You may have some cheap camping supplies that you haven't considered, and you can save costs by using items you already own. For example, old pots, pans, and skillets make for great camping cook ware, especially if you have some cast iron cook ware, and will allow you to avoid purchasing new camp cook ware that can be costly. Also, look for some old silverware, plates, cups, mugs, knives, and even tablecloths or cutting boards that would work great when preparing food at the campsite.
