• 1 box of your favorite cake mix, such as white or yellow cake dumped in next
• 1 can of your favorite canned fruit, such as cherries or pineapple, emptied on top
• Slightly stir all ingredients
• Place the dutch oven on a bed of hot coals
• Bake until done, between 30 minutes and one hour. Test by inserting a knife to see if it comes out clean

If a hearty meal is what you are after, offering meat and vegetables to fuel you at the end of a tiring day with nature, try dutch oven camping recipes for stews. These recipes provide great flavor without much of a hassle. For one of the heartiest dutch oven camping recipes, place some stew meat with water in your dutch oven that is over hot coals. As the meat gets tender, add your favorite vegetables, such as potatoes, onion, carrots, and celery. Some packaged stew seasoning can add great flavor.
