Motorcycle Camping Gear
from:One way of exploring the countryside is by planning a motorcycle camping trip. A motorcycle camping trip is different from a road trip, as you will be spending your nights under the stars, enjoying the great outdoors, instead of pulling into the first Motel and staying there for the night. If you enjoy the outdoors, sleeping under the stars, and you happen to own a motorcycle then planning for a motorcycle camping trip is just the thing for you.
Before planning on going out on your motorcycle camping trip, you will need to make sure you are prepared by selecting the right motorcycle camping gear for your trip. There is a lot of motorcycle camping gear available, the only problem is selecting the few essential items and ensuring that it will all fit on your bike. A good motorcycle camping gear bag is essential, and you must ensure that your things will all fit in it, and also that it will fit properly on your motorcycle. There is a selection of hard bags, which are fitted to your bike and can be painted to match your bike. However because of the price and the size of some of the hard bags, more often people choose to go with soft bags as they are easy to pack away and don’t require framing and mounting like the hard bags.
Other items that should be included in your list of motorcycle camping gear is a tent, plastic canvas, sleeping bag, stove, eating equipment, proper clothing, personal effects, and various items for your motorcycle. It may be difficult to fit all these items onto your motorcycle that is why you must be selective when choosing your motorcycle camping gear.
When choosing a tent you want to make sure that it is a sturdy and waterproof tent. If there is enough room, you should pack a plastic canvas as this will come in extremely handy throughout the trip. The plastic canvas can be placed under your tent or over your tent for protection during wet conditions. However, if you prefer to sleep without a tent, the plastic canvas can be used as a means of shelter, but this is only recommended in dry areas. When selecting your sleeping bag you want to ensure you have a comfortable and warm bag, but also one that will roll up and fit into your bag. Another item that is important is a stove along with eating equipments such as utensils and plates. Some campsites will not allow open fires, and there’s also the possibility of rain that will prevent you from making a fire, and in these cases you will be extremely grateful that you brought along your stove.
Before setting out on your motorcycle camping trip, not only do you want to ensure you have the proper motorcycle camping gear, but you also want to plan ahead by mapping out your journey, choosing campsites along the way and making sure that these sites will allow motorcycles. By planning ahead and choosing the proper gear you are sure to enjoy your camping trip.
