New Jersey offers a special camping experience for all ages. The state has many camping parks to choose from in a wide variety of locations. There are camping parks near to the wide selection of 42 parks, 11 forests and 3 recreation areas. These sites are perfect bases for exploring New Jersey's attractions such as the Statue of Liberty. When family camping in New Jersey, there is a variety of different types of camping sites, from the basic ones, to ones with family orientated facilities such as recreational activities, barbeque facilities and swimming pools.

When planning your trip away it is important to check that your planned campsite is in the best location for your planned sightseeing. Children very much enjoy family camping in New Jersey, and it is a perfect place for your weekend or vacation away with there is so much to see and do in the state. Family camping in New Jersey gives you the perfect opportunity to visit some of the 127 miles of beaches on the Atlantic Ocean's coast. The nation's first National Reserve is also located within the state of New Jersey, the 'Pine Barrens', which is 1.1 million acres and a special area of diverse and rare ecology. There is also a campground in the centre of this special forest.

History wise Washington and his army spent a lot of time in this time during the American Revolutionary War and there are a number of historical sites that reflect this. Many campsites are close to the nature parks, which make perfect bases for family camping in New Jersey. If you like hiking, then the Appalachian Trail runs through the state.

Family camping in New Jersey’s natural and picturesque landscapes gives some of the best camping experiences in the Northeast. There is over 25,000 sites available in the state, in every shape and size, accommodating all tents, a choice of cabins or a fully equipped RV. The New Jersey Department of Transportation has nine tour guides available for cyclists and there are five bird reserves for ornithological enthusiasts. Attraction wise there are eleven lighthouses that are open to the public, three water parks and a number of wine tours. Other attractions include the invention factories at Thomas Edison’s laboratory and library, American Indian Heritage Museum, and the Battleship New Jersey Memorial and Museum. The Greater Atlantic City Region has the world’s most famous four-mile boardwalk and a glittering nightlife. In the Delaware River Region, you can visit the nation’s most decorated battleship, the Battleship New Jersey and the underground railroad.
