Camping Equipment – Backpacking Cuts the Cost

from:

Camping holidays means different things to different people. This means that people need different types of camping equipment – backpacking for example relies on less equipment than rv camping. Backpacking usually involves hiking around with all your camping gear strapped to your back so the idea is to travel as light as possible. One thing you shouldn’t skimp on if you are thinking about this method of camping, is the backpack. A good backpack can make your hike a lot easier and keep your equipment drier and safer than a cheap one. Cheap backpacks may be an uncomfortable fit and could make for a miserable camping trip.

Even though you may want to buy discount camping equipment, backpacking requires a certain standard of backpack. Apart from the fact that a good backpack will last you a lot longer than most cheap ones, cheaper ones are not always up to the job. If you do decide to look for a discount backpack be very clear about why it is being discounted – the last thing you want is an inferior product, and that goes for all camping equipment. Backpacking is the kind of camping that relies heavily on what you use to transport your gear.

When you are looking for a backpack there are a number of things that are important to your comfort – when you don’t have the right features to support your camping equipment, backpacking can be a miserable and painful process for the backpacker. You don’t go on holiday to give yourself an aching back and aching shoulders so take care when choosing your backpack. If you are buying a backpack online then make sure that there is a returns policy in case it doesn’t fit right – alternatively go to the local store and try on backpacks until you find one that is not too big and is a comfortable fit. Try one with curved and padded shoulder straps, they make it much more pleasant to carry. Once you’ve done this you can then go online and order a backpack you know will be comfortable.

It’s a good idea to buy one with an extra strap that goes around your waist this will distribute the weight more evenly and you won’t get so tired. Get yourself some good hiking boots and break them in before you go on vacation. There is nothing worse than blistered feet, combine that with aching shoulders and you really are setting yourself up for an unhappy time. Wear warm and waterproof clothing and carry only essential camping equipment, backpacking can get miserable if you weigh yourself down with too much stuff.
